A categorically eligible household is considered as having met the social security number information, sponsored alien information and residency requirements for food stamp purposes.
If questionable, the caseworker will verify the following for the household that is considered categorically eligible:
It contains only members who are AFDC, SSI, or GA recipients. It meets the definition of a household as provided in FSC: 1630. It includes all individuals who purchase and prepare food together as one food stamp household regardless of whether or not these individuals are considered separate households for AFDC or SSI purposes.
