8651 Aggregate Allotments

A household which files an initial application after the 15th of the month and.is- approved by the end of the month of application will be '~~'' issued an aggregate allotment. An aggregate allotment is a combined allotment for the month of application and the following month. (If the initial month's<allotment Is less than $10, only the household's

allotment for the following month will be issued.Prorated initial

allotments of less than $10 a?e not Issued. See FSC 8610.)

Example:A household submits an Initial application on November 21st. This application Is approved on November 29th. On November 30th the household will be mailed an aggregate allotment which will Include the household's benefits for the months of November and December.

Households that apply after the 15th of the month and are certified under expedited service provisions will be issued the prorated initial month's benefit and the second month's full benefit within the expedited time frame. This provision was effective on June 16, 1993. Any household denied benefits on or after this date because this provision was not fully implemented is entitled to restored benefits.

Aggregate allotments will be authorized via the RETRO fields of the

EMS-233 and will be mailed in two envelopes on the same day. See EMSUM

7300 for instructions on authorizing an aggregate allotment.

Example:A household is authorized to receive an aggregate allotment for the months of November and December. The November allotment will be mailed in one envelope and the December allotment will be mailed in another envelope.

The automated approval notice code N3011 has been revised to contain a statement advising households receiving aggregate allotments that coupons will be mailed in separate envelopes. See EMSUM, APPENDIX H.
