heitml version 1.2 Announce
|
heitml 1.2 offers a great variety of new features in every area. The
most important features are:
- heitml now contains HTML-based Application Components. These Components make
it easier for you to create Database Query Forms,
Scroll through the results of a Search Query, create Database maintenance forms,
tree-structured menus and more. These Components are written in heitml and the
Source Code is included in the Tag Libraries.
- a completely revised installation procedure, together with an interactive
tutorial explaining how set up Pages and use the language, as well as improved
documentation. More third party software is supported.
The windows version comes with an Administrator program with a Browser-based interface.
- heitml now included debugging, pretty printing, and error handling
functions. heitml shows you what is going on in the data structures and
the pretty pretting option lets you browse through your Source Code pages
in Top-Down fashion from within the Browser.
- heitml can now keep data of any size alive between User page requests
within a session. This means that applications like shopping systems can
maintain shopping cart data just like memory data structures.
- heitml now has a Tag to send mail, a Tag to execute shell commands,
abd new Built-In functions.
- heitml comes with new Libraries: Use outline mode to structure a web
site, mail forms to create powerful email applications, dba to create database
applications, and various session mode support libraries.
Version 1.2 is a free upgrade to all our heitml 1.0.

- The heitml Libraries have been completely revised.
These Application Component Libraries take care of details that
would otherwise have required a great deal of programming on your part.
- Advanced session mode: Persistent tuple data structures of any size
stay alive between page requests.

on each of these pre-developed Tags.
- New debugging functionality shows all internal data structures
in case of an error.
- Pretty printing shows heitml Source Code in a
multi-colored HTML format. Syntax errors are highlighted to make them easier
to find.
- Production mode keeps track of any errors
that may occurr when oustside Users surf your heitml Web Pages. All debug
output is logged for later review.
- New Built-In Functions.
- The Mail Tag allows you to send email directly from
Web Pages using fill-in forms.
- The Shell Tag gives you access to Operating System
commands, batch files, and programm calls during the execution of heitml pages.
For secure operation the shell Tag can be switched off in the
configuration file.
- Improved Language Guide and
Language Reference Documentation.
- Improved Installation Procedure. Plus, we've added a new
User Guide covering special topics related to
heitml configuration.
- Included Application Component Libraries for email forms.
- A Library of Tags for Database Applications like guestbooks,
Product catalogs, etc. allows you to display, show, edit, and delete
records, as well as to scroll through the results of a query.
- An Outline Library to structure your web site in a hierarchical manner.
Creates a self-expanding and contracting menu on the left-hand side of
your Web Pages (as used in our own heitml Web Site).
- An Online Tutorial interactively guides you through the
process of creating pages and learning heitml.
- A large example library shows how to build applications
with heitml.
