This page tells you what you need to know about running NetscapeTM FastTrack ServerTM
with heitml on Windows 95/NT.
Check the following points:
- With notepad, open the file "C:\Netscape\Server\admserv\httpd-<name of computer>\mime.types"
or "C:\Netscape\Server\admserv\httpd-<name of computer>\config\mime.types"
where "C:\Netscape\Server" is the directory where you installed NetscapeTM
FastTrack ServerTM. Search for a line starting with
type=magnus-internal/shellcgi
If this line doesn't exits, add the following line:
type=magnus-internal/shellcgi exts=hei
If this line exists, add
,hei
to the end of the line. Before the comma, there must not be any spaces.
- Choose 'Administer Netscape Servers' from the Netscape Server program group,
logon with the administrator account of the Web server, select the server
you want to administer on the administration page, in the left frame click on
'View server settings' and in the right frame click on 'Additional Document Directory'.
Enter "/heitml2.0" in the 'URL prefix' form field and enter "C:\heitml2.0\htdocs\heitml2.0"
in the 'Map to Directory' form field where "C:\heitml2.0" is the directory where you
installed heitml. Click OK, save and apply the changes.
- Stop and restart the server. Therefore, click on 'Choose' on the administration page,
click the 'ON' button next to the server on the administration page, click OK
in the alert box and click the 'OFF' button next to the server on the
administration page.
- If you use a proxy server, configure your browser so that no
proxy server is used for localhost.
- Double-click the 'doc' icon in the 'RADpage with heitml' program group.
Note that the localhost feature of the heitml configuration parameter debugip
is not available with NetscapeTM FastTrack ServerTM 2.0/3.0 on Windows 95.
Also note that we didn't find a way to disable browsing of heitml.ini configuration files
with NetscapeTM FastTrack ServerTM.
In case of problems:
- The heitml installation program should have added an association of files
with extension .hei and the heitml application. You can check this by
starting Windows Explorer or by double-clicking the 'My Computer' icon on
the desktop, choosing 'Options' from the 'View' menu, choose the
'File Types' card and search for 'heitml File' in the list of registered
file types. In the 'File type details' group box, the extension should
be HEI. Now double-click on 'heitml File' and double-click on 'open' from
the list of actions. The 'application used to perform action' should be
"C:\heitml2.0\program\heitml.exe /C %1" where "C:\heitml2.0"
is the directory where you installed heitml.
- Be sure you switched off any proxy server for localhost in your browser.
